Customer visit BAKO Wales during the Beer Festival

From Sunday, 29th July, to Tuesday, 31st July, IREKS hosted a trip to the German headquarters in Kulmbach for Bako Wales and their customers.

After a fantastic meal on Sunday evening at the Greek restaurant "Filion Taverne", it was an early start on Monday morning where breakfast was served at Kreuzer's Backeria. Afterwards, we did a tour through the bakery.
It was interesting to see the level of investment made on equipment and ovens and to hear of the marketing techniques used by the owner to combat the supermarket products.

A trip to the bakery museum followed, highlighting how baking had changed through the years. After lunch at Fuchsbau Bäckeria, we had a guided tour of Bamberg, a "Cultural World Heritage City".
The medieval architecture, the river side houses and the magnificent Bamberg Cathedral were all amazing, not to forget our passionate tour guide who told us many interesting facts.

The last day we had a tour of the impressive Head Office and manufacturing facility of IREKS in Kulmbach, and a lot of the guests could not believe the size and technology behind the scenes to produce all the products. After the factory tour, there was a presentation on some of the IREKS products, highlighting different ways to shape bread, ideas for confectionery and, of course, tasting these products.

Finally, the evening was spent in Kulmbach town centre enjoying the atmosphere of the Beer Festival which was impressive, especially seeing so many people in traditional Bavarian dress.

All customers agreed that they had a great time, the trip was informative and that they had taken away some great ideas that they could not wait to realise in their own bakeries.
